Christmas

Christmas Eve the kids and I got up early to see the Monet exhibit at the Albertina Museum.  The lines consistently wrapped around the building, so my colleague suggested a 9:00 on Christma Eve visit.  We actually found our way into the Picasso room and enjoyed the emptiness.

We then walked to my favorite French bakery for coffee and pain au chocolat.

The Viennese buy their treest on Christma Eve and keep them up until early February.  Instead of a stand with water, the use these wooden crosses for five weeks.  No water and live candles on trees must keep the fire department employed...

Christmas Day we we watched movies, ate pancakes, wings and steaks, and enjoyed hanging out in our pjs!
